Our client, a reputable organization in the Distribution industry, is seeking a dedicated Collections Specialist to join their team. As a Collections Specialist, you will be an essential part of the finance department supporting client accounts and ensuring timely payments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong negotiation skills, excellent communication, and a detail-oriented approach, which will enable you to succeed and grow within the organization.
Job Title: Collections Specialist
Location: Peekskill, NY
Pay Range: $25.00/hr.
Shift: 8:00AM - 4:30PM, Monday through Friday
Must be open to screenings if selected

What's the Job?
- Review accounts receivable (A/R) aging reports to identify past-due accounts and outstanding invoices.
- Contact debtors via phone, email, or mail to notify them of overdue balances.
- Develop and propose mutually beneficial payment plans or settlement options to secure funds.
- Investigate historical billing data and resolve invoice errors or customer complaints.
- Use the in-house system, Jericho, to invoice billed amounts, match payments to invoices, and log transactions accurately.

- Good data entry skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Assertiveness, respectfulness, and confidence in client communications.
- Ability to negotiate effectively and develop mutually beneficial solutions.
- Strong problem-solving skills to resolve billing discrepancies and disputes.
- Basic understanding of financial processes and account monitoring.
