A day in this roleYou start your morning side-by-side with the DC Manager, reviewing overnight activity and the day’s priorities. In SAP, you move quickly from worklist to worklist—allocating customer orders, posting goods issues (PGI), and confirming receipts. You coordinate with Sales and Customer Service to align pick/ship timing, update Transportation on truck plans, and touch base with carriers and drivers to keep schedules tight. As shipments leave, you prepare bills of lading and small parcel labels (including UPS), ensuring every transaction is clean and traceable. Between waves, you answer inventory questions, help with cycle counts and reconciliations, and keep data accurate across systems. It’s fast, hands-on, and highly collaborative—without direct reports, but as a senior, go-to teammate in a small, tight-knit group.
What you will do- Execute daily shipping and receiving activities and complete all associated SAP transactions.
- Own SAP workflows for shipping, receiving, order allocation, and PGI to keep orders moving.
- Coordinate constantly with Sales, Customer Service, Production, and Transportation to align schedules and adjust to changes.
- Create and manage shipping documentation, including bills of lading and small package shipments.
- Support truck planning and shipment coordination, including carrier and driver communications.
- Respond to inventory inquiries and support customer service escalations with accurate data.
- Assist with cycle counts and inventory reconciliation to protect data integrity.
- Maintain precise records and ensure system accuracy across all touchpoints.
- Ship samples and manage small parcels (e.g., UPS) as needed.
- Contribute as an individual contributor in a small, collaborative team with no direct reports.
- 2–3+ years of hands-on SAP experience specifically in shipping, receiving, and logistics workflows.
- Background in distribution center or warehouse operations.
- High School Diploma or GED (Associate’s degree or higher in a related field preferred).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strength in multi-tasking, prioritization, and thriving in a high-performance, fast-paced setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; effective cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong analytical thinking, sound decision-making, and problem-solving capability.
- Comfort navigating SAP and other business systems with attention to detail and data quality.
- Curiosity and the habit of asking thoughtful questions to get to the right answer faster.
- APICS/CPIM or other supply chain certification is a plus.
Operate with urgency, communicate early and often, and treat system accuracy as non-negotiable. You’ll balance multiple complex tasks—order processing, documentation, coordination, and inventory support—while adapting smoothly to changing priorities.
