Job Details

• Schedule: 4x10

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms with sterile instruments, equipment, and surgical supplies before procedures
• Maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures
• Assist surgeons by passing instruments, supplies, and equipment during operations
• Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts before, during, and after procedures
• Prepare, inspect, and maintain surgical instruments and equipment
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team to ensure efficient workflow
• Assist with patient positioning, preparation, and transfer before and after surgery
• Handle surgical specimens according to facility policies and procedures
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention, sterilization, and patient safety standards
• Collaborate with surgeons, registered nurses, anesthesia providers, and other operating room staff
• Assist with room turnover and preparation for subsequent surgical cases

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
• Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential preferred or required per facility policy
• Minimum 1 year of recent Surgical Technologist experience
• Current BLS Certification required
• Experience in general surgery and multiple surgical specialties preferred
• Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and operating room procedures
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to remain calm and organized in a fast-paced surgical environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
• Ability to stand for extended periods and assist during lengthy surgical procedures
