Registered Nurse – Telemetry / Neuro Acute

Location

Phoenix, AZ

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 48-bed Neuro Acute unit, including patients with epilepsy, brain tumors, subdural hematoma, TBI, scoliosis surgeries, and other neurological diagnoses
• Monitor and interpret telemetry and EEG trends (24–48 hour trend EEGs); detect and respond to subtle changes in patient condition
• Perform and maintain sterile technique for procedures including Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
• Manage patients on BiPAP in coordination with Respiratory Therapy; utilize SWAT RN support for difficult IV access as needed
• Participate in weekend rotation (3 shifts per 4-week period) and holiday rotation; engage in self-scheduling
• Float as needed to Med/Surg, Telemetry, or alternate campuses

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license with a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance (two attempts permitted)
• Must successfully complete a Day 1 pass/fail SIMs Lab assessment covering Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes, demonstrating competency in sterile field technique
• Strong critical thinking and assessment skills, with the ability to detect subtle changes in neurological patients

Preferred Experience / Skills

• BSN degree preferred
• Certification in Med/Surg or Telemetry preferred
• Experience with cranial nerve assessment or willingness to be trained in this area
• Background in Med/Surg Telemetry with strong foundational nursing skills
