Job Title

Travel: RN CCU (Neuro) (3x12's - Nights)

Indianapolis, Indiana

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | Full-Time | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 3x12-hour shifts | 36 hours per week guaranteed | 13-week assignment | Every other weekend commitment | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to critically ill patients in a Neurosurgical and Neurological Intensive Care unit, including ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, post-op craniotomy, seizures, encephalopathy, and neurologic tumor patients
• Perform comprehensive and thorough neurological assessments on hemodynamically unstable patients
• Manage and monitor mechanically ventilated patients in a 10-bed unit with patient ratios of 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3
• Operate specialized equipment including Alaris Pumps, Arctic Sun, Prismax, EV1000, and Neuroptics Pupillometer
• Document and manage patient care using Epic EMR
• Float to other inpatient areas as needed when the home unit is at low census

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) state licensure
• Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Demonstrated comprehensive assessment skills with hemodynamically unstable patients
• Experience caring for mechanically ventilated patients
• Strong and thorough neurological assessment skills

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Pupillometer, External Ventricular Drain (EVD), and ICP waveform management
• Proficiency with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
• Prior experience with Epic EMR
