Key Responsibilities

• Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients, providing nursing care for health problems ranging from simple to complex.
• Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; notes all changes in physician orders.
• Obtains and monitors physiological data, observes physiological manifestations, and intervenes when necessary.
• Administers medications as prescribed and initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products.
• Interacts with patients and families to share the care plan during hospitalization and at time of discharge, and informs them of hospital procedures.
• Delegates tasks to support staff and makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Current Oklahoma RN license or current multistate compact RN license.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• NRP certification (American Heart Association); Advanced NRP required.
• Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures with the ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
