Job Title

Travel RN – Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU), Night Shift

Location

Asheville, North Carolina

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | Nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | 13-Week Assignment | 36 hours/week | 12-hour shifts | Alternating weekends | Onsite

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in a 16-bed Cardiac ICU with patient ratios of 2:1 or 1:1 (occasionally 3:1 depending on acuity)
  • Titrate vesicant medications and manage pressors, sedation, and paralytics
  • Operate and monitor advanced equipment including ventilators, IABP, CRRT, Impella, telemetry, Baxter IV pumps, and hypothermia devices
  • Perform hemodynamic monitoring including PA catheter setup and interpretation, transvenous pacing, cardioversion, and TEE support
  • Assist with and support bedside procedures including central line insertion, chest tube insertion and maintenance, bronchoscopy, EGD, pericardiocentesis, and thoracentesis
  • Document all patient care activities accurately using Cerner EMR; float to other areas of the facility per traveler float policy
Required Qualifications
  • Active RN licensure (or compact eligibility) in North Carolina
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience
  • Demonstrated experience with titration of vesicant medications, pressors, sedation, and paralytics
  • Proficiency with mechanical ventilators and tracheostomy care
  • Competency in telemetry interpretation and hemodynamic monitoring including PA catheter setup and interpretation
  • Familiarity with Cerner electronic medical records system
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • CCRN certification strongly recommended
  • Experience with IABP, Impella, and/or CRRT
  • Prior travel nursing experience in a cardiac or critical care setting
