Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Swiss Setup Machinist to join a precision manufacturing team in Kings Mountain, NC. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience setting up, programming, and operating Swiss-style CNC machines while ensuring the production of high-quality precision components. This position requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining the highest quality and safety standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, program, and operate Swiss-style CNC machines for precision manufacturing.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Select and install appropriate tooling, fixtures, and machine offsets.
  • Perform first-piece inspections and in-process quality checks using precision measuring instruments.
  • Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain product quality and production efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and perform routine machine maintenance.
  • Ensure all manufactured components meet quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
  • Follow all workplace safety procedures and manufacturing best practices.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to improve machining processes and productivity.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.


Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience setting up, programming, and operating Swiss-style CNC machines.
  • Strong understanding of Swiss machining processes and CNC operations.
  • Proficiency in using precision measuring equipment, including:
    • Calipers
    • Micrometers
    • Gauges
    • Other inspection tools
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, technical drawings, and engineering specifications.
  • Experience troubleshooting machining issues and performing routine machine maintenance.
  • Knowledge of quality control procedures and manufacturing best practices.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality parts.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a precision manufacturing or machining environment.
  • Technical certification, vocational training, or apprenticeship in CNC machining or manufacturing technology.
  • Experience with CNC programming and process optimization is a plus.
