About the Position
We are seeking an experienced Survey Technician / Civil 3D CAD Drafter to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in land surveying, drafting, and Civil 3D production. This position requires accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively on a variety of residential, commercial, and public works projects.
Responsibilities
- Prepare survey drawings, boundary surveys, topographic surveys, ALTA surveys, record of surveys, and construction staking exhibits using Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
- Process and draft field survey data into accurate CAD deliverables.
- Create existing conditions, grading, utility, and site plan exhibits from survey information.
- Coordinate with licensed land surveyors, engineers, project managers, and field crews.
- Maintain drafting standards and quality control procedures.
- Organize project files and maintain documentation.
- Assist with project scheduling and meet established deadlines.
- Review survey data for completeness and accuracy.
- Some field work may be required.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Survey Technician or Civil 3D CAD Drafter.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is required.
- Strong understanding of land surveying principles, boundary mapping, topographic surveys, and construction staking.
- Experience processing field data from GPS and total station equipment is preferred.
- Ability to read legal descriptions, plats, deeds, and survey records.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Carlson Survey software.
- Knowledge of local surveying standards and permitting requirements.
- Associate degree or technical certificate in surveying, drafting, engineering technology, or a related field.
