This position involves 12-hour shifts with physician and mid-level staffing, servicing approximately 16,000 patient encounters annually within a modern Emergency Department.

Practice Environment

This hospital-based emergency department serves as a key referral and stabilization center in Marion, Virginia. The ED features a dedicated physician and advanced practice provider coverage model supported by the Epic EMR. Clinical Responsibilities

• Evaluation, stabilization, and management of emergency patients across a broad case mix
• Performing emergency procedures within scope of practice
• Coordination with consulting specialists and inpatient teams as needed
• Documentation within Epic EMR in accordance with hospital standards
• Collaboration with nursing and ancillary staff

Candidate Requirements

• MD degree from an accredited 4-year medical school
• Completion of an ACGME/AOA-approved 3-year residency in emergency medicine, family medicine, or internal medicine
• Active, unrestricted VA medical license with DEA registration for VA address
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM, AOBEM, ABMS FM, IM, or EM)
• ACLS, ATLS, PALS (if not BC in EM or EM trained)
• Immunizations including MMR, Varicella, TB testing or QuantiFERON Gold, and current flu vaccination
• Case logs for the past two years demonstrating clinical experience
• CME/CEU requirements for preeclampsia management, updated every two years
