Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every Other Weekend Rotation | Holidays as Needed | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to acutely ill medical-surgical and orthopedic patients with diagnoses including acute/chronic respiratory illness, CHF, renal failure, GI bleeding, post-operative conditions, diabetes, arrhythmia, drug overdose, and stable COVID
• Monitor and manage patients with CIWA scores, seizure activity, suicidal ideation, and those undergoing radioactive therapy
• Administer IV medication drips including Heparin and TNA per unit protocols
• Care for post-operative patients including general surgery, GYN surgery, and total knee and hip replacements
• Float between facilities within the health system as needed
• Complete unit-based orientation modules and comply with all facility compliance requirements prior to start date

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical-Surgical Telemetry or Telemetry nursing
• BLS certification required
• EPIC electronic health record experience required
• Must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during compliance (2 attempts allowed)
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility (no local candidates accepted); current driver's license required at submission to verify address

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification preferred
• NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred
• Experience with orthopedic and post-operative patient populations
