Job Title
Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Telemetry Float
LocationDenver Metro Area, Colorado (Float Zone – multiple facilities within approximately 60-mile radius of Denver city center, including Lakewood, Longmont, and Westminster, CO)
Schedule / Job TypeContract | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite | Float Pool Assignment
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care across Medical Surgical and Telemetry units, floating throughout an assigned zone covering multiple facilities within a 60-mile radius
- Care for an adult and geriatric patient population with diagnoses including cardiac, neurological, orthopedic, oncology, renal, urology, general surgery, gynecology, psych/detox, ENT, and general medicine
- Titrate Heparin drips and manage patients requiring respiratory therapy equipment including vents, CPAP, and BiPAP
- Adapt to varying unit assignments including MS-Tele, PCU/Stepdown, and low-acuity ICU holds based on staffing needs and skill set
- Maintain flexibility with scheduling, including weekend shifts (6–9 per 6-week schedule) and potential holiday rotation participation
- Accept facility assignments communicated via Just-In-Time (JIT) notification 1–2 hours before shift start when applicable
- Active RN licensure in the state of Colorado (or compact license eligibility)
- Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical / Telemetry nursing experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Ability to maintain housing within a feasible distance to float throughout the full 60-mile zone
- Must be physically present in state for the week of orientation, even if initial modules are completed remotely
- Valid driver's license required
- Prior experience in a neuro nursing environment
- Experience working in a float pool or multi-facility travel assignment
- Familiarity with a broad range of specialty units including cardiac, oncology, rehab, bariatrics, ortho, trauma, and ED observation
- Gain diverse clinical exposure across multiple specialty units and facilities within a dynamic regional float pool
- Schedules are released 4–6 weeks in advance, offering reasonable advance planning with the support of designated charge nurses on each unit
