Contract | Nights (12-Hour Shifts, 3x12 or 4x12) | Onsite | 13–26 Week Contracts

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct inpatient nursing care for a combination adult medical-surgical and surgical stepdown unit with a 1:6 patient ratio
• Monitor, interpret, and manage cardiac dysrhythmias; utilize Rapid Response Teams as appropriate
• Administer blood products and manage central and peripheral lines, surgical drains, and wound care including wound vacs
• Care for a wide range of surgical and trauma patients with diagnoses including appendicitis, bowel obstruction, peripheral vascular disease, trauma, and various cancers
• Assist with or provide post-procedural care for surgeries such as cholecystectomy, appendectomy, hernia repair, ostomy creation/closure, amputations, and fem-pop bypass
• Float to like units as needed and participate in storm, hurricane, or disaster response teams when required

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of surgical unit experience
• Active RN license in North Carolina or a valid Compact state license
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications
• Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, blood product administration, non-invasive airway management, isolation precautions, and wound care/wound vac
• Familiarity with special equipment including chest tubes, NG tubes/Corpak, JP drains, Hemovac drains, and Penrose drains
• Proficiency with Pyxis, EPIC, and SBAR communication framework

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Experience managing chest tubes (Emerson/Pleur-evac)
• Prior travel nursing experience
