Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the CAM Programmer will support precision machining operations while partnering closely with engineering, production, and external stakeholders. This individual will be responsible for developing CNC programs using CAM software, improving manufacturing processes, and ensuring seamless communication between design and production teams. This role is highly collaborative and will work cross-functionally with engineers, production personnel, and vendors to drive efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement across the operation.
Day to day responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize CNC programs for mills and lathes using CAM software (toolpaths, feeds/speeds, machine strategies)
- Collaborate with engineering, design, and production teams to ensure manufacturability and efficient workflows
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to production efficiency, quality, and engineering processes
- Manage and organize legacy data files and maintain accurate program documentation
- Partner with vendors and contractors for outsourced machining or project needs
- Create and maintain project documentation, tracking tools, and reports (Excel, Teams, etc.)
- Assist in troubleshooting machining or programming issues on the shop floor
- Ensure strong cross-functional alignment across engineering and operations teams
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Must Have:
- CAM Programming Experience
- CNC Programming Experience
Nice to Have:
- MasterCAM experience
- Experience with CAD design and drafting (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) is highly preferred
- Ability to step in and support design backlog when CAM programming priorities are complete
- Provides backup support for the CAD Engineer, including during PTO or high-volume periods
- Contributes to design-for-manufacturability (DFM) conversations and engineering collaboration

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brodhead, KY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $33.00/hr.
