Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Description:
- Perform predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance on heavy industrial manufacturing equipment and supporting electrical systems.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair PLC-controlled automation systems, HMI interfaces, motor control circuits, and industrial network communications.
- Maintain and repair AC/DC drives, variable frequency drives (VFDs), soft starters, servo systems, and 3-phase motor installations.
- Troubleshoot high-voltage electrical distribution systems, switchgear, transformers, substations, generators, and power generation equipment.
- Install, commission, test, and support new production assets including rolling mills, CNC machining centers, continuous casting equipment, material handling systems, conveyors, and industrial furnace systems.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, control drawings, ladder logic, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Conduct root cause failure analysis (RCFA) to improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
- Perform electrical troubleshooting utilizing multimeters, megohmmeters, oscilloscopes, and other industrial diagnostic equipment.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment performance, reliability, safety, and process optimization.
- Ensure compliance with all electrical safety standards, lockout/tagout (LOTO), NFPA, and company safety procedures.
Preferred Experience
- 3+ years of Industrial Electrical Maintenance experience in a manufacturing, metals, steel, foundry, aluminum, paper, automotive, or heavy industrial environment.
- Journeyman Electrician certification or equivalent industrial electrical experience.
- Strong troubleshooting experience with PLCs, VFDs, motor controls, industrial automation, and electrical power distribution systems.
- Experience working with 480V, medium-voltage, and high-voltage electrical systems.
- Proficiency in electrical installations, conduit bending, panel wiring, motor terminations, and control cabinet modifications.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, PLC logic, and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of industrial safety practices including LOTO, arc flash awareness, and energized electrical work procedures.
- Siemens PLC programming and troubleshooting.
- Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electro-mechanical systems.
- Industrial networking, Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Profinet, or related control platforms.
- Predictive maintenance technologies including vibration analysis, thermography, and motor testing.
- Experience supporting continuous process manufacturing operations.
This is a Permanent position based out of Florence, AL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $79040.00/yr.
