Job Title: Contents Technician
Job Description
As a Contents Technician, you play a key role in helping property owners recover from fire, water, and mold damage by carefully handling, cleaning, and restoring their personal belongings. You work both in the field at client properties and in a well-equipped restoration shop, ensuring items are properly documented, cleaned, dried, deodorized, repackaged, and stored with care and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Pack, label, and transport contents from client properties to the restoration shop with care and attention to detail.
- Identify, document, and photograph damaged items to support accurate records and insurance or project documentation.
- Operate cleaning and restoration equipment to clean, dry, and deodorize contents affected by fire, water, or mold.
- Repackage restored items securely and organize them in storage areas for easy retrieval and return to clients.
- Maintain jobsite cleanliness and safety by following established procedures and handling materials properly.
- Drive the company vehicle to and from client sites, assist with jobsite setup, and support field teams as needed.
- Intake and inventory contents in the shop, ensuring accurate tracking and labeling of all items.
- Perform cleaning, restoration, drying, and deodorizing tasks in the shop according to established standards.
- Complete documentation and communicate status updates clearly and professionally with team leads and office staff.
- Use a smartphone to capture photos, update job notes, and communicate with the team in real time.
- Lift and move boxes, furniture, and other contents, including heavy items, while following safe lifting practices.
- Work on ladders and stand for extended periods to access and handle contents in various environments.
- Demonstrate a professional demeanor with clients and colleagues, representing the company with respect and courtesy.
- Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized work area in both field and shop settings.
- Participate in training, certification programs, and individual development planning to grow into advanced roles such as project management or coordination.
Essential Skills
- Experience performing cleaning, janitorial, general labor, or moving tasks involving lifting and handling boxes and furniture.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting of 50+ pounds, stand for long periods, and work safely on ladders.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from work and job sites.
- Comfort driving a company vehicle to client locations and assisting with onsite setup.
- Strong attention to detail for identifying damage, documenting contents, and maintaining accurate records.
- Professional demeanor and communication skills when interacting with clients and team members.
- Ability to operate cleaning and restoration equipment after training and follow established procedures.
- Smartphone proficiency for documentation, photo capture, and communication with the team.
- Clean history and a strong work ethic, with reliability and commitment to quality work.
- Willingness to learn new restoration techniques and grow within the company.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in construction, construction trades, or general labor is beneficial for handling contents and working in varied environments.
- Experience as a mover or cleaner is helpful for packing, transporting, and cleaning personal property.
- Interest in obtaining IICRC and other industry certifications, which are covered by the company.
- Willingness to travel out of state for work related to large events such as floods or hurricanes.
- Bilingual language skills are a plus for communicating with a diverse client base.
- Desire to follow an Individual Development Plan and pursue growth into roles such as Project Manager, Coordinator, or other positions within the company.
- Comfort working in both field environments and a warehouse/shop setting.

Work Environment
You work in a beautiful, well-appointed shop featuring a golf simulator, kitchen, lounge area, comfortable seating, and a large warehouse floor with an impressive contents restoration area. The role combines field work at client sites with stationary work in the shop, using cleaning, drying, and deodorizing equipment and handling a wide range of personal property. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, starting at 7:45 a.m. and continuing until the job is done, with typical return times to the shop between 4:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. The environment is active and hands-on, requiring frequent lifting, standing, and ladder use, while maintaining safety, cleanliness, and professionalism throughout the workday.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
