Job Title: Lead Maintenance Technician
Job Description
- This role leads maintenance activities in a heavy industrial foundry environment, combining hands-on mechanical, electrical, and basic controls work with day-to-day leadership on the floor
- You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a wide range of equipment to ensure maximum uptime and operational efficiency, while supporting and collaborating closely with the maintenance team and other departments
Job Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot equipment issues across the facility to minimize downtime and keep production running efficiently
- Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and maintain accurate documentation of all work performed
- Repair and maintain mechanical systems, including removing, replacing, and troubleshooting motors and pumps, and replacing bearings such as pillow block bearings
- Repair and maintain electrical systems, including unwiring and rewiring pumps and motors, pulling electrical wiring, and working safely with systems up to 480V
- Repair and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems to support reliable operation of production equipment
- Access HMI (Human-Machine Interface) screens to read error codes, interpret system feedback, and troubleshoot basic control-related issues
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests, assess urgency, and prioritize tasks to maximize equipment uptime
- Collaborate closely with maintenance team members, supervisors, and other departments to support production goals and resolve issues efficiently
- Provide on-the-floor leadership by setting a high standard for safety, workmanship, and teamwork within the maintenance function
Essential Skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience removing, replacing, and troubleshooting electric motors
- Ability to replace bearings, including pillow block bearings, and rebuild and maintain industrial pumps
- Electrical aptitude with experience unwiring and rewiring pumps and motors and pulling electrical wiring
- Comfort working with and around electrical systems up to 480 volts while following safe work practices
- Basic controls experience, including the ability to access HMI screens, read error codes, and understand their meaning
- Ability to troubleshoot basic control-related issues based on HMI feedback and system behavior
This is a Permanent position based out of Novi, MI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $103000.00/yr.
