Job Title: Swiss CNC Operator
Job Description
This role focuses on operating Fanuc-controlled Citizen Swiss and CNC machining centers to produce precision industrial parts. You will perform tool changes, offsets, and minor program edits, while ensuring parts meet quality standards through in-process inspection. The position requires careful attention to detail, strong blueprint reading skills, and consistent adherence to cleanliness and safety in the work area.
Responsibilities
- Operate Fanuc-controlled Citizen Swiss machines and CNC machining centers to manufacture precision industrial parts.
- Perform tool changes, offsets, and minor program edits on CNC and Swiss equipment as needed.
- Set up CNC lathes and Swiss machines when required to support production.
- Read and interpret mechanical blueprints to understand part specifications and machining requirements.
- Conduct in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, gages, and other measuring tools to verify part quality.
- Apply GD&T principles and blueprint reading skills to ensure parts meet dimensional and tolerance requirements.
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to maintain consistent quality and throughput.
- Follow established quality control and quality inspection procedures throughout the machining process.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in the machine shop.
- Collaborate with team members and leadership to support efficient production and continuous improvement.
Essential Skills
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints accurately.
- Ability to read and use micrometers, calipers, and basic inspection gages for in-process inspection.
- At least 1 year of experience operating lathe or Swiss machining equipment.
- Hands-on experience with CNC operation, including tool changes and offsets.
- Basic familiarity with Fanuc controls on CNC and Swiss machines.
- Competence in quality control and quality inspection practices in a machining environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.
- Ability to work safely in an industrial machine shop environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience setting up and programming CNC lathes and Swiss machines.
- Previous experience setting up Citizen Swiss machines.
- Experience working in a job shop environment producing industrial parts.
- Knowledge of GD&T and blueprint reading for complex machined components.
- Experience with CNC mills, lathes, and other industrial machinery.
- Comfort using a variety of precision measurement tools, including micrometers and calipers.
- Ability to contribute to continuous improvement in machining processes and quality.

You will work in a traditional machine shop setting that prioritizes cleanliness, organization, and equipment maintenance, using precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and inspection gages as part of daily work.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00/hr.
