Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Make a meaningful difference in the lives of K-4th grade students by guiding and supporting learners with Specific Learning Disabilities and Other Health Impairments. This contracted opportunity is located near Naples, ME, and offers flexibility for both full-time (33.75 hours per week) and part-time (~20 hours per week) applicants. The classroom environment is welcoming and designed for collaboration, with an average class size of 19 students and support from two enthusiastic Ed Techs. If you prefer part-time hours, the team is prepared to bring on an additional Ed Tech to ensure comprehensive assistance.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Special Education Teacher certification is required
- Experience teaching elementary students (K-4th grade) with learning disabilities or related health impairments
- Solid understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Comfortable working alongside educational technicians and collaborating with other school professionals
- Strong communication, patience, and adaptability in a classroom setting
Your Contributions:
- Deliver individualized instruction and customized learning strategies to students based on their IEPs
- Assess student abilities and monitor growth to inform instruction and make necessary adjustments
- Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and families to promote student success
- Maintain thorough documentation and contribute to meetings regarding student progress
- Create a positive, structured, and inclusive environment that encourages student engagement and growth
