Job Description
The Crate Assembler assembles and packages manufactured products after they have completed the painting process to ensure high-quality items are accurately prepared and protected for shipment. This role focuses on building custom crates, bolting and assembling gates and barriers, and carefully packaging products and hardware so they arrive safely and in excellent condition.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and package manufactured products after the painting process to ensure they are ready for shipment.
- Build wooden crates for shipping, ensuring they are sturdy, secure, and tailored to product specifications.
- Bolt and assemble gates, barriers, and related structures according to work instructions and blueprints.
- Follow detailed work instructions and blueprints to complete assemblies accurately and efficiently.
- Perform visual quality control checks on painted products to verify finish quality and identify defects.
- Select, package, and secure the correct hardware and components into each crate for shipping.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic tools safely and effectively during crate building and assembly.
- Measure, cut, and prepare wood and other materials as needed for crate construction.
- Wrap and package products to protect them from damage during transport.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
- Ability to use measuring devices accurately to cut and assemble materials to specification.
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools for assembly and crate building.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, including work instructions and blueprints.
- Experience with assembly or production work in a manufacturing or construction environment.
- Capability to perform visual quality control inspections on finished paint jobs.
- Comfort using pneumatic tools and other production equipment safely.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to build and fasten components securely.
- Previous woodworking or carpentry experience, especially in building crates or similar structures, is much preferred.
- Experience in crate building, construction, or related trades.
- Background in packaging and wrapping products for shipping.
- Familiarity with wood cutting tools and techniques.
- Ability to work efficiently in a production environment while maintaining quality standards.
You will work in a clean, well-regarded facility that is known in the local community as a great place to work. The schedule offers Monday to Thursday daytime hours from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with half days on Fridays from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. as needed, supporting work-life balance. Work Environment

Team members work daytime shifts Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with occasional half-day shifts on Fridays from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. as needed. The facility includes a well-appointed break room featuring a mini market, providing convenient access to snacks and refreshments during breaks. Work involves regular use of hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, measuring devices, and woodworking equipment in a production setting.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
