Job Title: Facilities Technician
Job Description
The Facilities Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of building facilities. This position involves performing various tasks related to preventative maintenance and assisting with repairs of building and grounds within assigned areas.
Responsibilities
- Perform general plumbing tasks such as changing shower heads, sinks, and drains.
- Conduct general carpentry work, including repairing beds and doors using appropriate tools.
- Handle general electrical duties such as replacing lamps and bulbs and tracing electrical lines.
- Monitor and clean HVAC systems, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with external HVAC contractors when necessary.
- Utilize technology skills for tasks involving iPads, emails, computers, and motorized blinds.
- Demonstrate strong customer service skills and communicate effectively through various channels.
- Assist with building maintenance, including changing out equipment, motors, and sensors.
- Take initiative and proactively address maintenance issues without waiting for tickets.
Essential Skills
- 6+ months of building maintenance experience within apartment complexes or hotels.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs on a daily basis.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience in customer-facing roles with a focus on service excellence.
- Technical proficiency with modern systems and equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Previous maintenance experience at hotels or apartment complexes.
- Experience in environments focused on customer satisfaction.
- Familiarity with rooftop HVAC units and VAV (Variable Air Volume) boxes.
- Proven track record in preventative maintenance tasks.
- Experience in residential and contractor work.

Work Environment
The work environment includes two primary shifts: Tuesday-Saturday or Sunday-Thursday, with hours ranging from 8:00AM-4:00PM or 12:00PM-8:00PM. Facilities Technicians must be flexible to work between two locations, primarily stationed at one, but cross-trained to assist at the second facility when needed.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Washington, DC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
