This role supports and assists technicians performing avionics installations by fabricating wire harnesses, installing and terminating wiring, performing ring-out procedures, and contributing to functional testing of avionics and electrical systems. The position plays a key part in ensuring aircraft are completed on time, meet regulatory requirements, and are delivered with defect-free avionics assemblies.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day work direction to avionics technicians, ensuring tasks are completed within the allotted time frame and in alignment with project schedules.
- Coordinate with and assist other departments to support on-time delivery of completed aircraft.
- Install, modify, and fabricate wiring, electrical components, fixtures, and associated equipment in accordance with blueprints, worksheets, and engineering drawings.
- Fabricate wire harnesses, perform terminations, and conduct ring-out and functional testing of avionics and electrical systems.
- Train other team members on avionics installation techniques and associated work assignments, sharing expertise as a skilled specialist.
- Contribute to the development of employees and installation techniques by completing work in innovative and effective ways.
- Assist Engineering in resolving avionics and electrical system problems and perform repairs following engineering direction.
- Maintain required logs and records accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ensure all completed work meets applicable regulatory requirements and customer specifications.
- Enforce the company Foreign Object Debris (FOD) program, tool control program, 5-S program, and all safety regulations.
- Inspect all work, including work performed by other team members, to ensure a defect-free assembly prior to final inspection.
- Hands-on experience with avionics installation and avionics electrical systems.
- Proficiency in avionics wire installation, including fabrication, routing, and termination of wire harnesses.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, worksheets, and engineering drawings for wiring and electrical component installation.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and customer specifications related to avionics and electrical systems.
- Capability to perform functional testing and ring-out of avionics and electrical systems.
- Experience providing work direction to technicians and checking their work to ensure quality and compliance.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- For Avionics Installer II: 2+ years of avionics experience OR 1 year of avionics experience plus one year of avionics schooling.
- For Avionics Installer Sr: 2+ years of experience in an avionics or electrical career field OR two years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics and two years of related experience.
- FCC-related certification preferred.
- Additional aviation electronics or avionics-related education preferred.
- Ability to train and mentor team members in avionics installation practices.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering defect-free assemblies.
- Comfort working within structured programs such as FOD control, tool control, 5-S, and formal safety regulations.

Work Environment
This role is based in an aircraft completion center environment focused on installing and integrating avionics and electrical systems into aircraft. You will work around active aircraft projects, using standard avionics and electrical tools within structured programs such as FOD control, tool control, 5-S, and formal safety procedures. The setting is hands-on and production-oriented, with a strong emphasis on quality, precision, and adherence to engineering documentation and regulatory standards.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.17 - $33.81/hr.
