Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Certified Surgical Technologist / Scrub Tech to join a premier, fast-paced Ambulatory Surgery Center specializing in Ophthalmology. In this role, you will prepare operating rooms, maintain strict aseptic techniques, and provide expert chairside instrumentation support to surgeons. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional looking for a high-volume, collaborative environment with no nights, weekends, or holiday requirements.
Job Type: Full-time, PermanentSchedule: Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 5:00 PM (No On-Call, No Weekends, No Holidays)
Location: Greece / Rochester, NY (In-Person)
Surgical Preparation: Select, pull, and organize appropriate surgical instruments, sutures, and sterile supplies. Review case carts for accuracy and anticipate upcoming surgical needs.
Intraoperative Support: Scrub and provide precise instrument passing during surgical procedures. Maintain an accurate count of sharps, instruments, and sponges alongside the circulating nurse.
Sterile Field Management: Rigorously apply the principles of aseptic technique and universal precautions. Ensure surgeon preference cards and pick lists remain updated and accurate.
OR Turnover & Maintenance: Safely dispose of sharps and medical waste. Prepare utilized instruments for decontamination/processing. Assist with rapid room turnover, cleaning, and restocking supplies between cases.
Education: Graduation from an accredited School of Surgical Technology or equivalent work experience with a valid state-compliant grandfathered letter.
Experience: * Minimum of 2 years of operating room experience is preferred.
Prior experience within an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) is highly advantageous.
Specialized experience in Ophthalmology is a major plus.
Open to highly motivated New Graduates with strong clinical rotations.
Caseload Capability: Comfortable working in a high-volume environment managing a daily caseload of 25-30 procedures.
