Job Summary
Are you a high-energy sales professional who loves the freedom of the road and thrives in a fast-paced, technical environment? We are seeking an advanced Field Sales & Utility Liaison to drive growth and coordinate field operations for large-scale gas utility expansion projects.
This is not a desk job. Working within a tight-knit, collaborative sales group, you will act as the vital link between prospective customers, field sales coordinators, and pipeline construction contractors. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated "road warrior"who brings a mix of direct outside sales grit, excellent problem-solving abilities, and strong organizational skills to manage critical construction project paperwork.
Key Responsibilities
Direct Outside Sales: Conduct door-to-door direct sales and outreach to prospective customers within the expansion territory to meet yearly growth goals.
Easement Acquisition: Connect with property owners to successfully secure difficult and vital land easements for utility pipelines.
Field Sales Support: Act as the advanced escalation point and liaison to support field sales coordinators with difficult customers or complex, specialized installations.
Project & Construction Coordination: Manage construction-related paperwork, including utilizing IBM Maximo for work order design.
Document Control: Ensure critical Job Cards are collected directly from pipeline contractors and delivered to utility stations for scanning and drafting.
Territory Travel: Dedicate significant time to extensive driving and regular overnight stays to effectively manage the northern territory.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience: Proven track record in outside sales, field coordination, right-of-way (ROW), or utility operations. Experience in a step-up or advanced coordinator role is highly preferred.
Technical Proficiency: Strong Microsoft Office skills; direct experience with IBM Maximo or utility work order design software is a major plus.
Soft Skills: High degree of creativity, latitude, and independent problem-solving skills. Excellent conflict resolution abilities for handling sensitive customer or contractor situations.
Travel Requirements: Must possess a valid drivers license, a reliable personal vehicle, and auto insurance. Comfort with extensive daily driving and regular overnight travel is required.
Financial Capability: Ability to pay upfront for daily travel expenses (gas, meals, lodging), which are fully reimbursed on a weekly basis.
