DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position oversees production activities within the SCI Waymart CI Garment Plant by training and guiding inmate workers in manufacturing tasks. It supports safe operations, accurate recordkeeping, and the overall efficiency of factory processes. As a Corrections General Industries Factory Foreperson, you will perform the following duties:
- Worker Training: Instruct inmate workers in production methods, equipment use, and computer-based reporting
- Safety Oversight: Maintain secure work areas, monitor inmate movement, and enforce tool and supply controls
- Operational Monitoring: Use SAP to track orders, inventory, and production activity for smooth operations
- Process Improvement: Review records and recommend updates to equipment or production methods
- Administrative Tasks: Submit attendance records, contribute to progress reports, and complete required documentation

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 40-hour work week
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday.
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $53,036.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years of experience in the production of goods or services; or
- An associate degree in industrial technology, operations management, business administration, or a related field; and one year of work experience in the production of goods or services; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training, which includes one year of work experience in the production of goods or services.
Other Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
