DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position supports the planning and analysis of geospatial data used in environmental cleanup programs. This specialized work involves collecting, reviewing, and presenting data that helps staff understand environmental conditions and make informed decisions. As a Geospatial Specialist 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Data Modeling: Design geospatial models that support cleanup, remediation, and land recycling activities
- Data Preparation: Edit, merge, and update data sets while assigning correct attributes and creating metadata
- Application Development: Build and maintain Geographic Information System (GIS) web mapping tools for staff and public use
- Technical Analysis: Create queries and models that prepare maps, charts, and other visual data displays
- Project Coordination: Plan geospatial projects, gather requirements, and present results to agency leadership
- System Support: Maintain GIS templates, assist staff users, and support enterprise geodatabase needs

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Geospatial Specialist 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- One year of technical experience utilizing geospatial programs to capture, store, manipulate, analyze, maintain, and present geospatial data; and an associate's degree in geographic information systems, geography, geospatial technology, cartography, computer science, natural science, or related STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) field, including or supplemented by six (6) credits in geospatial coursework; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training, which includes or is supplemented by six (6) credits in geospatial coursework.
