Plasma Operator- Day Shift- Contract to Hire

Day Shift: 4:30AM- 4:30PM (Monday AM- Friday PM)

The Plasma Operator is responsible for operating CNC plasma cutting equipment to accurately cut metal components according to engineering drawings, production schedules, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have previous experience operating plasma or laser cutting equipment, possess strong measurement skills, and maintain a safe and efficient work environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate CNC plasma cutting equipment to cut materials according to production specifications.
• Set up machines, load materials, and adjust machine settings as required.
• Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, drawings, and production documentation.
• Accurately measure materials and finished parts using tape measures and other measuring devices.
• Inspect finished products to ensure quality standards and dimensional requirements are met.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
• Safely operate forklifts to move raw materials and finished products throughout the facility.
• Maintain accurate production records and report any equipment or quality issues.
• Keep work area clean and organized while adhering to all safety procedures and company policies.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.

Required Qualifications

• Previous experience operating plasma cutting equipment and/or laser cutting equipment.
• Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure.
• Forklift operating experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience reading or working with CAD programs and drawings.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.
• CNC machine operation experience.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds throughout the shift.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
• Ability to safely operate industrial equipment and machinery.
