About the Role

Stratus recently partnered with PVEDI and is seeking an experienced Environmental Permitting & Compliance Specialist to support a diverse portfolio of oil and gas and linear infrastructure projects throughout Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Ohio. This position combines environmental permitting, regulatory compliance, technical design support, and field oversight, offering an excellent opportunity for professionals looking to expand their expertise while working on complex infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities


  • Prepare, submit, and manage environmental permit applications, including ESCGP-4, Nationwide Permit 12 (NWP 12), Chapter 105 permits, and other applicable federal and state permits
  • Develop Erosion & Sediment Control (E&S) Plans and Post-Construction Stormwater Management (PCSM) Plans
  • Prepare air permitting packages, including GP-5, GP-5A, GP-1, and other applicable air quality permits
  • Support the preparation of grading plans, pipeline alignments, profiles, and other design documents for oil and gas infrastructure projects
  • Conduct wetland delineations using U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) methodology and support associated permitting efforts
  • Perform environmental compliance inspections, construction monitoring, and field audits to ensure adherence to permit requirements
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies, clients, contractors, and internal multidisciplinary teams throughout the permitting process
  • Prepare technical reports, permit narratives, environmental documentation, and supporting exhibits
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations across Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Ohio
  • Support project managers by coordinating schedules, deliverables, and permitting milestones across multiple projects
QualificationsRequired
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Ecology, Geology, or a related field
  • 3+ years of environmental permitting and compliance experience, preferably supporting oil and gas or linear infrastructure projects
  • An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered
  • Demonstrated experience preparing and submitting environmental permit applications in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Ohio
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations and permitting processes
  • Experience conducting wetland delineations utilizing USACE methodology
  • Knowledge of erosion and sediment control practices and stormwater management requirements
  • Strong technical writing, communication, organizational, and project management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced consulting environment
  • Willingness to travel to project sites and perform fieldwork in varying terrain and weather conditions
Preferred
  • Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC) or actively pursuing certification
  • Experience supporting right-of-way projects, including restoration and design coordination
  • Familiarity with cathodic protection design
  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification
  • Experience using GIS, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar mapping and design software
  • Previous experience with pipeline or other linear infrastructure permitting projects
