Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on an 18-bed Medical Surgical Acute Care unit serving general medical patients with a variety of diagnoses
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 5–6:1 on night shifts, with support from two Patient Care Technicians per shift
• Titrate Heparin drips and manage patients with oxygen requirements up to 6L NC, as well as stable BiPAP/CPAP
• Perform IV starts and collaborate with inpatient phlebotomy and pharmacy teams as needed
• Monitor telemetry in coordination with the house-wide telemetry department using Philips equipment
• Float to other units as needed per facility policy; travel RNs are first to float

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
• Current BLS certification
• Ability to titrate Heparin drips
• Compliance with a drug-free workplace policy, including a negative drug screen for all panels
• Willingness to work every other weekend (Friday/Saturday nights) and participate in holiday rotation

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Minimum 1 year of hospital experience preferred
• ACLS certification preferred, particularly for those interested in Charge RN responsibilities
• Familiarity with Philips telemetry monitoring equipment
