Special Education Teacher - Elk River, Minnesota

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a closely related field
• Valid Minnesota Special Education Teaching License (or eligibility to obtain through reciprocity)
• Proven experience with IEP development and case management
• Strong grasp of IDEA, compliance, and special education best practices
• Outstanding communication, organization, and collaboration skills

Preferred Experience:

• Previous work in ASD, self-contained, assessment, or therapeutic settings
• Familiarity with Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports (PBIS), Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
• Experience with elementary and/or secondary student populations
• Background in behavior management and crisis intervention

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student goals
• Provide specially designed instruction and ongoing data-driven progress monitoring
• Participate in eligibility determinations, evaluations, and multidisciplinary team meetings
• Maintain thorough, compliant documentation and foster a positive, inclusive environment
• Collaborate closely with general educators, administrators, related service providers, and families
• Implement effective behavioral and classroom management strategies
