This role requires a highly skilled and experienced Tool & Die Maker with over 10 years of hands-on experience in aerospace manufacturing. You will design, build, modify, and maintain precision tooling, dies, fixtures, jigs, and molds, while performing tight-tolerance machining in a fast-paced aerospace environment. You will use your expertise in CNC machining, blueprint interpretation, and tooling troubleshooting to support high-quality, reliable production.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain precision tools, dies, fixtures, jigs, and molds used in aerospace manufacturing.
- Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes to produce high-precision components to extremely tight tolerances.
- Perform machining operations using wire EDM, sinker EDM, surface grinding, and manual mills to support tooling and production needs.
- Interpret aerospace engineering drawings and apply GD&T principles to ensure parts and tooling meet all dimensional and tolerance requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with production tooling, including diagnosing root causes and implementing effective corrective actions.
- Modify and improve existing tool and die designs to enhance manufacturability, performance, and durability.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure tooling supports aerospace quality and process standards.
- Inspect and verify tooling and machined components to confirm conformance with aerospace specifications and quality requirements.
- Maintain a high level of workmanship, accuracy, and consistency in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment.
- Follow established aerospace quality systems and standards to ensure compliance with industry requirements.
- 10+ years of hands-on experience as a Tool & Die Maker in aerospace manufacturing environments.
- Journeyman-level machining and tooling skills with demonstrated expertise in tool and die work.
- Strong proficiency with CNC mills and lathes for tight-tolerance machining.
- Experience operating wire EDM and sinker EDM equipment.
- Proficiency with surface grinding and manual milling machines.
- Ability to read and interpret aerospace engineering drawings and apply GD&T.
- Experience working with tight tolerances and precision machining in aerospace applications.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with production tooling in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with AS9100 standards and aerospace quality systems.
- Experience in fixture design for aerospace manufacturing.
- Background in designing and modifying tooling, dies, fixtures, jigs, and molds.
- Strong blueprint interpretation skills, including complex aerospace drawings.
- Comfort working with structured aerospace quality processes and documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with engineering and production teams.

Work Environment
The role is based in an aerospace manufacturing environment focused on precision tooling and machining. You will work with CNC mills and lathes, wire EDM, sinker EDM, surface grinders, and manual mills, supporting the production of tight-tolerance aerospace components. The standard schedule follows a 4/10 workweek, Tuesday through Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Overtime may occasionally be available on Mondays from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. or on Saturdays from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with Saturday work being very rare. The environment emphasizes adherence to aerospace quality systems and standards, including AS9100, and requires consistent attention to detail, safety, and precision.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr.
