Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Exciting full-time opportunities are available for dedicated Special Education Teachers skilled in creating inclusive, supportive environments for students with diverse learning needs. Multiple contract-based roles are open district-wide for the upcoming academic years, with assignments spanning August 31, 2026, through the end of the 2026/2027 school year. Roles include Special Education Assessment Teachers, Setting III/IV Restore Program positions, and ASD Center-Based Elementary Special Education Teachers.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and monitor effective Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Provide specially designed instruction to meet targeted student goals
- Conduct assessments, progress monitoring, and maintain organized documentation
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families
- Implement behavioral intervention strategies and support classroom management
- Engage actively in multidisciplinary meetings, IEP processes, eligibility determinations, and committee work
- Adhere to IDEA, Minnesota Special Education guidelines, and district policies
- Promote inclusive practices, supporting each student’s academic, social, emotional, and behavioral growth
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related discipline
- Valid Minnesota Special Education teaching license (or eligibility to obtain via reciprocity)
- Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and managing IEPs
- Solid understanding of special education law, compliance, and case management
- Excellent collaborative and interpersonal communication skills
Preferred Experience:
- Previous roles in ASD, Resource, Self-Contained, Setting III/IV, Assessment
- Experience with PBIS, MTSS frameworks, Functional Behavior Assessments, and Behavior Intervention Plans
- Background working with both elementary and/or secondary students
- Skilled in crisis intervention and strong behavior management strategies
