Registered Nurse – ICU (MICU)

Schedule / Job TypeContract | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3x12-hour shifts) | 36 or 48-hour weekly options available | Onsite
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert critical care nursing to critically ill patients in a 20-bed Medical ICU setting
- Manage patients with complex medical conditions including respiratory failure, acute and chronic kidney failure, liver failure, overdoses, and septic shock
- Administer and monitor IV drips as required across all assigned floors
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records
- Float within scope of practice to various units and campuses as needed to meet facility staffing needs
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams including CNAs, care techs, transport, paramedics, and LPNs
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (pending Nebraska RN state license accepted; if not in hand at time of submission, start date will be booked six weeks out)
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience in a large, urban hospital setting
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Proficiency with EPIC charting required
- Ability and willingness to float frequently to various units to meet facility staffing needs
- Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
- Experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center (considered in lieu of standard first-timer restriction)
