American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Surgical Oncology position at an acute care facility in Indiana, working 3x12-hour night shifts with a 5:1 patient ratio.
Details- Acute care hospital setting on a 32-bed Med/Surg Surgical Oncology unit
- Patient population includes general surgical, oncology, stepdown, and MS overflow cases
- Patient ratio of 5:1
- Staff includes RNs, PCTs, and Unit Secretaries (during day shift)
- 12-hour night shifts, 3x per week (Fri/Sat nights on weekends)
- Every other weekend required, or 4 weekend shifts per month (Fri/Sat nights)
- Required to cover 2 of 4 major holidays
- Floating required to MS or stepdown units within scope of practice
- EMR: Cerner
- 13-week contract
- Active RN license — Indiana or Compact state license required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Current BLS certification required
- Med/Surg or Surgical Oncology nursing experience preferred
- Cerner EMR experience beneficial
- Caring for general surgical, oncology, and stepdown/MS overflow patient populations
- New orientations begin every Monday
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- Candidates residing between 50–100 miles may be considered at a reduced pay rate
- BSN is not required for this position
