Contract | Full-Time | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 3 x 12-Hour Shifts per Week | Every Other Weekend Required | Holidays Based on Unit Needs

 Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Progressive Care Unit setting, managing intermediate-acuity patients requiring close monitoring and intervention
• Operate and manage BiPAP, chest tubes, and PICC lines; independently draw patient labs without vascular access team support
• Independently call consults and conduct codes as needed
• Care for post-open-heart surgery patients, including management of pacer wires (Day 2/Day 3 experience)
• Float to ICU and other inpatient units including Med/Surg, Med/Tele, Acute/Tele, and the Emergency Department based on unit needs and prior experience
• Document and manage patient records using the EPIC electronic medical records system

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Critical Care/ICU or Emergency Department experience
• Active Kansas RN License or valid Compact RN License
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications
• Demonstrated experience with BiPAP, chest tubes, PICC lines, and independent lab draws
• Ability to independently call consults and conduct codes without dedicated support teams
• Strong critical thinking skills; new graduates will not be considered

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Open-heart surgery post-operative care experience (Day 2 or Day 3) with pacer wire management
• Prior float experience across ICU, Med/Surg, Med/Tele, Acute/Tele, and Emergency Department settings
• Familiarity with EPIC EMR platform.
