Job Overview:
A Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) provides specialized nursing care to patients who require close monitoring and a higher level of care than a medical-surgical unit but do not require intensive care. PCU nurses assess patient conditions, administer medications, monitor cardiac rhythms, collaborate with the healthcare team, and educate patients and families.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) NY license
- Minimum 1 years of PCU experience
- BLS
- ACLS
- NIHSS

Traveler Experience: 1st timers are accepted

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess, monitor, and document patients' physical and mental status.
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and post-surgical conditions.
- Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms using telemetry.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and treatments as prescribed.
- Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition.
- Manage patients receiving oxygen therapy, BiPAP/CPAP, and other respiratory support.
- Care for patients with central lines, PICC lines, Foley catheters, chest tubes, and wound drains.
- Perform wound care and dressing changes.
- Monitor laboratory results and report abnormal findings to the provider.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Educate patients and families on disease management, medications, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical record (EMR) documentation.
