American Traveler is seeking an experienced Cath Lab RN for a 13-week travel contract at a Level II Trauma Center, with call requirements and experience in advanced cardiac and peripheral procedures.
Details- Work in a two-room Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Suite within a short-term acute care hospital (426 beds) that is part of a large academic health system
- Adult patient population with diagnoses including Coronary Artery Disease, Myocardial Infarction, Unstable Angina, Aortic/Mitral Valve Disease, and Peripheral Vascular Disease
- Procedures performed include diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral catheterizations, stent implants, IABP, Impella, EKOS, Rotablator, IVUS, FFR, Penumbra, Pericardiocentesis, Shockwave, IVC filters, TEEs, Cardioversions, TAVRs, and MitraClips (in conjunction with hybrid OR)
- Schedule: 4x10-hour day shifts, 7:00–17:30, with a 30-minute break
- Lab operates Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:15 PM, and is available 24/7 for emergency cardiac procedures
- On-call required: 6–9 call days per month; weekday call runs 5:15 PM–7:00 AM, weekend call is 24 hours per day
- Charting via Epic
- Floating to a satellite campus may be required
- Free parking available on-site
- Scrubs are provided
- Active RN license (CT state or Compact) required
- Current BLS certification required
- Cath Lab nursing experience required
- Trauma center experience at a large facility required
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Flu vaccination is required; declinations are not accepted
- COVID vaccination required; religious or medical exemptions may be considered
- Candidates must not have any prior disciplinary actions on their nursing license
- One professional reference required for consideration
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate
- Former permanent staff of this health system must have been separated for at least 2 years before being eligible to work as a traveler
- Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved for this assignment
- Travelers may be required to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities
- This is a Level II Trauma Center associated with a large academic medical health system
- First-time travelers are not explicitly excluded but Cath Lab and trauma center experience is required
