ESS Clinical is seeking experienced Special Education Specialists to support Carlsbad Municipal Schools in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

\nPAY $46/hr W2 or $52/hr 1099
In-person candidates are preferred.
\n\nThis is an exciting opportunity for experienced special education professionals who are passionate about improving instructional practices, ensuring compliance with special education regulations, and supporting educators to improve student outcomes.
\n\nPosition Responsibilities\n\n- \n\t
- Review Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and provide feedback on present levels, goals, accommodations, modifications, and progress monitoring practices.\n\t
- Support special education teachers with instructional planning and the implementation of specially designed instruction.\n\t
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and technical assistance regarding the requirements of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and effective IEP implementation.\n\t
- Assist with transition planning and compliance-related documentation.\n\t
- Mentor and support new and developing special education teachers through consultation and ongoing coaching.\n\t
- Deliver virtual professional development sessions and staff training.\n\t
- Collaborate with district coordinators, school administrators, and multidisciplinary teams to identify areas of need and develop effective solutions.\n\t
- Assist in developing systems and best practices that improve implementation fidelity, compliance, and student achievement.\n\t
- Facilitate and support Manifestation Determination Reviews (MDRs) in accordance with IDEA requirements.\n\t
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, district, and ESS Clinical policies and procedures.\n
- \n\t
- Strong knowledge of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), special education regulations, IEP development, and implementation.\n\t
- Experience supporting special education teachers and programs across multiple campuses.\n\t
- Demonstrated experience providing instructional coaching, consultation, mentoring, and professional development.\n\t
- Excellent communication, collaboration, leadership, and problem-solving skills.\n\t
- Thorough understanding of Manifestation Determination Reviews (MDRs) and disciplinary procedures under IDEA.\n\t
- Experience with transition planning and compliance documentation preferred.\n\t
- Previous school-based special education leadership or instructional coaching experience is highly preferred.\n
Applicants must possess or be eligible to obtain:

- Active New Mexico Special Education Teaching License issued by the New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED).\n\t
- Valid New Mexico educator licensure with an appropriate Special Education endorsement.\n\t
- Successful completion of all required state and district background checks and fingerprinting prior to employment.\n
