Essential Functions and Duties:
\n· Ability to organize and coordinate nursing care
\n delivery for clients assigned.
· No performance deficiencies caused by failure to
\n adapt to new techniques.
· Ability to direct others in health care delivery.
\n· Requires regular talking and hearing.
\n· Must be able to stand 4-6 hours.
\n· Provides direct client care activities if
\n required, in accordance with
· defined department and organization policies and
\n procedures.
· Requires a concentrated level of attention.
\n· Ability to adjust the eye to bring an object
\n into sharp focus.
Position Qualifications:
\nGraduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Current Illinois license. B.S.N. preferred
\nor equivalent years of experience. BLS certification required. Demonstrates clinical competence; Assumes
\n responsibility for own continued personal and professional growth.
\n
Preferred Skills and Abilities:
\nAbility to operate standard office equipment (i.e. copier,
\n facsimile machine, 10-key, etc.); personal computer and printer and specific
\n computer software (MS Office applications and Meditech).
\n
Physical Demands:
\n· Requires grasping and reaching with hands/arms.
\n· Ability to lift up to, but not limited to 25
\n pounds when assisting clients, turning clients or assisting client with
\n activities.
· Requires bending, stooping, and walking.
\n· Requires good body mechanics to prevent injury.
\n\n
The Registered Nurse (RN) manages and
\n coordinates the nursing care activities during the client's hospitalization in
\n accordance with organization policies and procedures. This includes assessment,
\n diagnosis, planning and establishing outcomes, implementation, and
\n evaluation. Based on this process, the
\n RN directs and is responsible for other personnel involved in client care. The RN maintains professional accountability
\n for all nursing care provided to clients in the organization. Demonstrates
\n competency in nursing judgment.
\n Maintains awareness of economic barriers of health care and acts
\n accordingly. Demonstrates knowledge of
\n nursing care needs and treatments for clients of various clinical specialties
\n in compliance with established standards of nursing practice. Will be required to work with clients 18
\n years of age and older.
