Spine Neurosurgeon - Hartford, CTSeeking a Spine Neurosurgeon to join an 867-bed tertiary care academic medical center in the heart of downtown Hartford, CT. A Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center, NAEC Level 4 Epilepsy Center,and Joint Commission Advanced Spine Center (the first in the nation).The new surgeon will walk into immediate volume with a focus on Spine and Complex Spine, with theability to further develop the spine program alongside the Medical Director.Facility Details

  • 9 Neurosurgeons and 20+ Neurosurgery Physician Assistants on staff
  • 2,000+ neurosurgical cases completed annually
  • Spine program completing 1,200 cases annually with room to grow
  • Subspecialty expertise in Functional (incl. Deep Brain Stimulation), Epilepsy, Skull Base,
  • Complex Spine, Neurosurgical Oncology, Vascular & Endovascular, Spine, and Trauma
  • 5 dedicated Neurosurgery ORs with dedicated OR staffing including a Perioperative Manager
  • 2 dedicated neuroscience units and a 23-bed Neuroscience ICU with neurocritical care nurses,
  • APPs, and 8 Neurointensivists
  • Robust surgical technology including Mazor X spine robots, Medtronic O-Arm and Stealth
  • Navigation, Zeiss microscopes, and headframes for Stereotactic DBS
  • Dedicated Nurse Navigators to support patients through the care pathway
  • Level 1 Trauma Center with LIFE STAR air ambulance service transporting patients from throughout
  • New England
  • Neurosurgery Residency Program in collaboration with UConn School of Medicine
  • Existing neurology and general surgery residencies with opportunities for teaching and
  • collaborative clinical research
  • UConn dedicated research department with nurse and/or research coordinator support
  • Qualifications
  • Medical degree from an accredited university
  • Neurosurgery Spine Fellowship trained from an accredited program (preferred)
  • Board certified or board eligible in Neurosurgery
  • CT medical license or eligible for licensure in the State of Connecticut
  • Strong work ethic with desire to participate in a team-oriented, performance-driven health system
  • Excellent communication, bedside manner, and organizational skills
