Mercyhealth Hospital and Trauma Center - Janesville, WI \nWork Schedule - This will consist of 2 x 12hr shifts and 2 x 8 hr shifts, including weekend and call rotation \nPerforms MRI procedures and related techniques to produce diagnostic images for physician interpretation. May be required to work flexible hours, alternate shifts and weekends and call as necessary to provide quality patient care at assigned site(s). May be required to flex hours/shift as needed to support the needs of the department. Works as part of a multidisciplinary team, serving on committees and participating in projects as requested.\nPerforms procedures or examinations under the order of a licensed medical practitioner for diagnostic interpretation.\nPrepares patient for procedures.\nProvides patient instruction to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety.\nApplies principles of magnetic resonance safety to minimize risk to patient, self and others.\nSelects and operates the magnetic resonance system, surface coils, physiologic gating devices, and associated equipment to achieve desired results.\nPositions the patient and equipment to best demonstrate the anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability, safety and comfort.\nImmobilizes patients as required for appropriate examination.\nSelects appropriate pulse sequences with consideration given to established protocols and other factors influencing data acquisition parameters.\nPerforms venipuncture, starts and maintains venous access.\nPrepares and administers contrast media.\nVerifies consent/screening form.\nUses appropriate scripting, barriers and identifiers.\nAssists the physician with interventional procedures.\nPractices aseptic technique and observes universal precautions.\nEvaluates images and data for technical quality.\nManipulates and reconstructs digital data for display, ensuring proper identification is evident.\nAssumes responsibility for provision of physical and psychological needs of patients during procedures.\nUses radiology information systems (including PACS), completes all required records and reports, archives and submits images for physician review and interpretation.\nInitiates basic life support action when necessary.\nProvides practical instruction to partners and students.\nEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE\nGraduate of an accredited radiography program - Education verification required\nExperience as an MRI Technologist\nCERTIFICATION/ LICENSURE\nARRT Radiography registration required\nARRT MRI registration required\nApproved BLS certification required
