Malone Healthcare - Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Schuyler, Nebraska.

- Schedule: Self-scheduling (with manager approval).
Weekend & Holiday: Weekends are at least every 3rd (at times every other). Holidays are on rotation per unit needs.
- Facility: CHI Health Schuyler
- Location: Schuyler, NE (Near Lincoln, NE)
- Dress Code: Navy Blue Scrubs
- Radius & Affiliation Rule: Travelers must live 50+ miles away. Candidates may not be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit (including CHI and/or Dignity). A Driver's License is required at submittal to verify the radius.
- Unit: 10-bed Med / Tele Swing Unit
- Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics, occasional peds. The majority of the census is swing bed patients needing IV antibiotics, therapy, or wound care. Medical patients vary (e.g., diabetic, pancreatitis, pneumonia).
- Patient Ratios: Typically 1:3-4
- Unit Support: Charge Nurse is present on each shift (and takes an assignment). Nurse Aides/PCTs are available (1:8 ratio).
- Floating Requirements: May float to the ED to act as backup help if volumes surge.
- Culture Fit: The unit has a strong "family feel." They are looking for a team player willing to jump in and help wherever needed.
- Licensure: Active Nebraska (NE) or Compact State RN License.
- Certifications: * AHA BLS
- ACLS
- PALS (Required)
- Time Off (RTO): Must be submitted upfront (strictly 7 days or less per 13-week contract). No additional RTO will be approved after submission.
- Orientation Exam: RNs must take an OPEN BOOK Pass/Fail exam on Friday during orientation covering skills learned. Candidates are given all necessary resources but must receive a 90% to pass or the contract will be terminated.
- Fingernail Policy: Artificial nails are strictly prohibited in all patient care departments. Refusal to remove nails will lead to immediate termination of the contract.
