General Medicine Physician – Veterans Disability Exams (MD/DO)

In-Person | $1,300–$1,400 Per Day | Compensation Negotiable Based on Experience

Overview

Frontera Search is seeking a licensed Physician (MD/DO) to perform Compensation & Pension (C&P) disability examinations for our nation's Veterans. This is an evaluation-only position with no ongoing patient care, treatment, medication management, or prescribing responsibilities.

Providers conduct comprehensive medical disability evaluations, complete VA Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs), and provide medical opinions when requested. All documentation is completed electronically and submitted to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to assist with disability benefit determinations. Examiners do not determine disability ratings or compensation decisions.

This opportunity offers a structured clinical environment, predictable scheduling, and the ability to focus solely on objective medical evaluations.

Compensation

• $1,300–$1,400 per day

• Compensation negotiable based on experience

• Consistent patient volume

• Predictable scheduling

• No production quotas

Responsibilities

• Review Veterans' service treatment records, medical records, and prior examination reports

• Conduct comprehensive in-person medical disability examinations

• Complete Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) accurately and thoroughly

• Provide medical opinions when requested by the VA

• Order and interpret diagnostic testing when clinically indicated (including labs, spirometry, and ECGs)

• Document findings in the electronic medical record system during the examination

• Submit completed examinations within 24–48 hours

• Follow established protocols for medical or behavioral health emergencies when necessary

QualificationsRequired

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)

• Active, unrestricted medical license

• Ability to independently perform focused medical evaluations across multiple body systems

• Strong clinical documentation and computer proficiency

• Experience using electronic medical records (EMR)

• Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills

• Commitment to providing compassionate, respectful care to our Veteran population

Preferred

• Prior Compensation & Pension (C&P) examination experience

• Previous experience working with Veterans or the Department of Veterans Affairs

• Experience in outpatient or occupational medicine settings
