Travel Registered Nurse – Operating Room (OR) Circulator

Key Responsibilities- Serve as the circulating nurse during surgical procedures, managing patient safety, documentation, and sterile field support throughout the intraoperative phase
- Perform patient assessments and serve as the patient advocate across the full perioperative experience within a Level III Trauma facility
- Coordinate surgical case preparation including equipment and supply management, specimen handling, and medication administration
- Support a diverse surgical caseload including General Surgery, Orthopedics, GYN, Robotics, Urology, Hand Surgery, and Podiatry
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, first assistants, and ancillary staff to ensure seamless surgical care delivery
- Participate in on-call rotation shared among OR RNs, averaging approximately 7 calls per 6-week period; weekday call 3:00 PM – 7:00 AM, weekend call in 12-hour shifts
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2 years of OR circulating experience required
- Experience in General Surgery, Orthopedics, OB/GYN, Robotics, Urology, Hand Surgery, and Podiatry required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Must be eligible for New Mexico state fingerprinting; submitting agency must be registered with the state of New Mexico
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
- Familiarity with Medhost and/or PICIS EMR systems
- Experience in a Level III Trauma or high-acuity surgical environment
- Hospital-laundered scrubs provided on-site; no floating required, allowing you to focus entirely within the OR
- Option to work up to 48 hours per week with a supportive multidisciplinary surgical team in an active, diverse OR environment
