Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown (Cardiac Progressive Care)

Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care in a 30-bed Cardiac Medical Progressive Care unit operating 24/7, with rooms remotely monitored by a Centralized Cardiac Monitoring Department
- Care for cardiac patients including those with Congestive Heart Failure, Acute Coronary Syndrome, arrhythmias, pre- and post-cardiac catheterization, rule-out myocardial infarction, syncope, and pacemaker placement
- Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips, including titration, and administer procedural sedation
- Perform telemetry monitoring, interpret and manage dysrhythmias, and oversee peripheral and PICC line care
- Manage respiratory patients (e.g., COPD, pneumonia) utilizing external CPAP/BiPAP and tracheostomy management as a secondary focus
- Participate in self-assisted scheduling through Optilink across 6-week scheduling periods, with assignments based on departmental need, patient work intensity, and skill mix
- Active RN license in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a Cardiac PCU setting; comfort with 1:4 ratios (drips/BiPAP) and 1:5 ratios required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records required
- Must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during compliance (2 attempts allowed; study materials not provided)
- Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the facility (no local candidates accepted); current driver's license required at submission to confirm address
- Previous Charge RN experience preferred
- NIH stroke scale certification preferred
- Experience with Rapid Response Teams preferred
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Work in a well-supported unit with Nurse Assistants available 24/7 and an RN secretary on duty from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM
