Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a night shift travel contract requiring a minimum of 3 years of NICU experience and proficiency with CPAP, HFNC, and intermediate neonatal patients.

\n
• Hospital-based NICU setting with floating required to a stepdown NICU unit
\n
• Cares for neonates 29-34 weeks and >34 weeks gestational age, including intermediate-level patients
\n
• Patient ratio of 1:3
\n
• Responsible for managing patients on CPAP, HFNC, and RAM cannula, among other respiratory support modalities
\n
• Patient care includes neonatal sepsis and sepsis workup, neonatal abstinence syndrome, IV therapy, administration of blood and blood products, anti-seizure medications, and neonatal dosage calculations
\n
• Skills required include blood glucose monitoring, hyperbilirubinemia management, phototherapy, breastfeeding support and breast milk handling, central line/implanted line care, phlebotomy, thermoregulation, and respiratory distress syndrome care
\n
• Feeding responsibilities include bottle, breast, and gavage feedings, as well as placement and management of oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tubes
\n
• Telemetry monitoring performed on the unit
\n
• Documents in Cerner
\n
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00
\n
• Every other weekend required
\n

Requirements\n

\n
• Active WV or Compact RN license required
\n
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
\n
• Minimum of 3 years of NICU experience required
\n
• NICU Level II and Level III skills required
\n
• Experience with CPAP, HFNC, and RAM cannula required
\n
• Cerner EMR experience required
\n
• Two professional references required for consideration
\n
• Copy of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
\n

Additional Information\n

• Responsibilities include developmental care, patient and family teaching, and isolation precautions/PPE compliance
\n
• Hunter green scrubs required
\n
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
