Job Description

Job Summary:

\n

Responsible for ensuring a continuous supply of heat and steam for key facilities by operating and maintaining the power plant in a safe and efficient manner.

\n\n

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities

\n
    \n
  • Gathers information regarding activity and outstanding issues from previous shift.
  • \n
  • Assesses priorities regarding maintenance activities requested.
  • \n
  • Takes appropriate action to resolve or decide to have issue addressed.
  • \n
  • Checks gauges and other instruments according to the prescribed schedule.
  • \n
  • Makes entries into the boiler logs, detailing operation, assessing for abnormalities, and taking appropriate corrective action.
  • \n
  • Monitors automated chemical treatment program to assure proper boiler and heating system operation.
  • \n
  • Performs tasks needed to keep boilers in good repair, including cleaning, painting, and minor repairs.
  • \n
  • Serves as the primary contact in the absence of the Facilities office staff.
  • \n
  • Answers telephone in a friendly professional manner identifying department and self.
  • \n
  • Carefully listens to caller gathering enough information to direct the call appropriately, takes message or plans to meet the caller’s needs.
  • \n
  • Reports in a timely fashion to area with maintenance problem. Assesses the situation and performs required maintenance task (ie. replace light bulbs, unplug sinks and toilets, etc) to resolve problem.
  • \n
  • Completes minor repairs during absence of maintenance staff.
  • \n
  • Performs tasks required and necessary on energy management system.
  • \n
  • Maintains preventive maintenance program on all power plant equipment.
  • \n
  • Assesses need for and activates sanding and plowing contractors when appropriate.
  • \n
  • Responsible for the general cleanup after a storm.
  • \n
  • Keeps work areas safe and clean.
  • \n
  • Completes other related duties.
  • \n
  • Supports and promotes the mission and values of Covenant Health Ministry.
  • \n
  • Other duties as consistent with this role.
  • \n

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • \n
  • Maine Driver’s License
  • \n
  • 1-3 years of related of boiler experience
  • \n

Comp Range:

$22.63 - $31.16\n
