Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Trauma Unit)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days (3x12 Hours, 7:00–19:00) | 36 or 48 hour per week options available | 13 or 26 week contract options available | Onsite

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care on a fast-paced, 45-bed medical/surgical trauma unit serving hemodynamically and medically stable trauma patients
  • Care for patients admitted from the emergency department, transferred from the ICU, or admitted from surgical and procedural services, addressing both acute and chronic trauma needs
  • Administer and monitor IV drips as required across all floors
  • Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records
  • Float within scope of practice to other units and campuses as needed to meet facility staffing needs
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team including CNAs, care techs, transport team, paramedics, and LPNs where assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Active or pending Registered Nurse (RN) license for the state of Nebraska (pending license accepted; if not in hand at time of submission, start date will be booked six weeks out)
  • Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a large, urban hospital setting
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Proficiency with EPIC charting system required
  • Experience administering IV drips required
  • Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted)
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center (may be considered in lieu of prior travel experience for first-time travelers)
  • Familiarity with trauma or high-acuity medical/surgical patient populations
  • Comfort with frequent floating across multiple units and campuses
