Start your day at 6:00 AM, gear up, review the job ticket, and set up the CNC press brake for a mix of short runs and prototype work. You’ll select and set dies, program bends, confirm radii and angles with calipers and a protractor, and document inspections as you go. By 2:30 PM, you’ve formed accurate parts, kept the machine maintained, and helped keep jobs moving on time.
What you’ll do- Operate a CNC press brake to punch, notch, bend, and form material to precise angles and radii.
- Sequence operations logically to achieve final part geometry.
- Complete inspection and operation paperwork; use calipers and protractors to verify quality; prepare job tickets; meet time standards and perform quality checks.
- Identify malfunctions and promptly alert your supervisor about material or equipment issues.
- Set up tooling, including changing and setting dies.
- Program and input data on the CNC controller.
- Perform daily and weekly preventive maintenance.
- Move and stack material safely.
- Attendance: Be on time, follow schedules, and minimize unscheduled absences.
- Quality: Do it right the first time so our customers receive parts that meet all requirements.
- Safety: Wear required PPE and follow safety rules, procedures, and policies at all times.
- Accountability: Own the quantity and quality of your work and strive for excellence.
- Follow procedures, work instructions, and operational processes; non-compliance can lead to customer rejections, internal scrap, shipment delays, personal injury, and environmental impact.
- Immediately contain and report any nonconforming product to management.
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 2 years of press operator experience.
- Experience with short runs and prototypes.
- Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring tools.
- Self-starter who can work with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively.
- Efficient job setup skills.
- Ability to program and maintain programs.
- CNC Press Brake experience: 1 year (Required)
- Full-time, first shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM.
- Worksite: Richmond, IN 47374.
- Ability to commute to Richmond, IN 47374 (Required).
- Ability to relocate to Richmond, IN 47374 before starting (Required).
Manufacturing setting with regular exposure to loud noise, fumes/airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration; potential work with or around chemicals as described on accessible Safety Data Sheets; moderate temperature changes during an eight-hour shift.
