Requirements

Requirements

• Active RN license
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Experience with:
  • Ventilators
  • CPAP/BiPAP
  • High-flow oxygen therapy
  • Titrating cardiac, insulin, and sedation drips
  • Critical care patient management
• BSN not required

Unit & Patient Population

• 33-bed ICU (average daily census: 16)
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:2–3
• Common patient diagnoses include:
  • Trauma
  • Sepsis
  • Cardiac conditions
  • Post-stent care
  • Pacemaker placement
  • Stroke
  • Vascular cases
  • Renal failure
  • Heart failure
  • Respiratory distress
  • Overdose/Substance abuse

Skills & Responsibilities

• Titrate cardiac, insulin, and sedation drips
• Interpret and document cardiac rhythm strips
• Care for critically ill patients requiring advanced monitoring
• Float to PCU and occasionally Med-Surg as needed
• Every other weekend rotation
• Minimum of two holidays during the assignment if they fall within the contract period
